Connecting High Net Worth Black American Professionals to Kenya

Geechee Adventures        www.geechieadventures.com

Geechee Adventures was created to ultimately increase the number of Black Americans that promote, invest and make residency in Kenyan communities.  We do this by inspiring the transformation journey through cultural exchange and immersion with Kenyan business and philanthropic leaders.

We focused our company on social impact because we target professionals who are philanthropic and travelers who are learners. A portion of our tours and marketing will always highlight the (economic + social) impact of (re)introducing Black Americans to the country of Kenya, in contrast to other African countries.

We intentionally market Kenya as a place for Black Americans to make philanthropic investments, incubate private companies, and to enjoy cultural immersion through  luxury tourism.

We are grounded in Kenya because we see the proactive work of the government and business community to grow their economy; we also believe there is sufficient utility and financial infrastructure to incubate the social innovation and business development of entrepreneurial Black Americans.

We define marketing and customer reach by metrics that matter.  As an African/American managed firm, we have surveyed and documented the motivations, inclinations and purchasing power of black American travelers and investors who come to African countries.  We have reviewed the advertising campaign and products of Magical Kenya (Tourism Board) and seek to leverage this agency’s resources to increase the market share of Black Americans spending and investing money in Kenya.

Since 2020, we have planned, curated and hosted 21 cohorts of professionals in African countries, nine of them hosted in Kenya.  We have been successful in our marketing in the US, because we target and communicate to Americans in a language that they understand and respond to as consumers. We understand the motivations of the Black American (re-entering) the African market as guests, philanthropists and investors.  Within our networks, we have the unique advantage of soliciting from the US’s top and largest African-American organizations and entities.
